We primarily focus on serving foster youth, youth 18 and under who’ve experienced abuse / neglect, as well as young parents wanting support through pregnancy & parenting. We provide a variety of mental health services and educational classes.

Provides individual and group support (including support from a therapist and registered nurse), access to resources, pregnancy/delivery/parenting support, and childbirth classes for pregnant and parenting youth up to age 19. Weekly teen parent support groups, individual counseling, nurse on staff for checkups and birthing classes. Baby care items for all youth that enroll in the program. Services are free of charge.

The St. Louis Doulas of Color Collective is a vast network of Black and Brown Community Doulas in the St. Louis region, who've banded together to ensure that affordability and access to Doula care remains a staple for all pregnant people in St. Louis.
The collective lives by the mantra of, "Every woman who wants a Doula, should have a Doula", and is making this possible by hosting Misssouri's only and St. Louis's first BIPOC Doula directory. Residential facility that assists pregnant homeless birthing people with shelter, goal-setting, education, employment, parenting, and permanent residence.
Staff completed one trans competency training with Trans Housing Initiative St. Louis (THISTL) in November of 2024.
The largest 24-hour emergency shelter for single women and families in the state of Missouri. 110 beds and three meals a day to residents. Provides emergency shelter services designed to get families into transitional or permanent homes in under 30 days. The shelter provides comprehensive support services. Lunches are provided daily for drop-ins. Works with Affinia/Grace Hill and Washington University to provide health services. Requires referral.
A program of the Foster & Adoptive Care Coalition. The Youth Acceptance Project (YAP) supports foster & adoptive families with LGBTQ+ youth. The YAP Specialist assists caregivers who are struggling with the sexual orientation, gender identity or expression (SOGIE) of their youth. YAP social workers use a trauma-informed, psycho-educational model seeped in cultural humility to address the misinformation, resistance, fear, grief, and guilt that families may experience. The YAP program is also great for caregivers who are affirming of their youth's LGBTQ+ identity, but would like some additional guidance on how to best support them. The YAP Specialist also meets with and supports the young person.

Through EACH1, people are connected with a Success Coach to help them set and achieve goals and learn how to navigate resources to work towards self-sufficiency. With multiple service providers all under one roof, people can easily get connected with a variety of resources and create a plan that works for them.
The Beyond Jobs component of EACH1 offers job readiness training, life skills training and access to a variety of employment opportunities while also providing wrap-around supportive services such as transportation assistance, childcare resources, and professional clothing. Each resident partner adds an additional layer of support and resources for individuals on their paths to self-sufficiency.
Founded in 1979 at the National March on Washington for Lesbian and Gay Rights, Family Equality is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization working to create a world where everyone can experience the unconditional love, safety, and belonging of family. They offer information, resources, events, and support groups for LGBTQ+ families in the U.S. Family Equality cannot provide individual legal advice or family-building financial support, but they can provide resources and referrals to other organizations.

St. Louis Area Diaper Bank strives to make a health, social and economic impact by not only providing diapers and period supplies but by connecting them to these resources and other resources through our partner agencies.
Providing families in need with free diapers influences a range of positive outcomes for these families, such as positive changes in parental mood (reducing the risk of childhood abuse); improved child health and happiness (nurturing their ability to learn); and increased opportunities for childcare, work stability, and school attendance.
Operated by Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital, Safe Kids provides car seat checkups and safety information to providers, parents, and caregivers regarding child safety and injury prevention. They have reduced cost car seat programs as well, often as low as $25 for a new car seat.
Nurses provide one-on-one home visits and support to individuals having their first baby from pregnancy to when the baby is two years old. Eligible participants are those less than 28 weeks pregnant, St. Louis City or County residents, and have met income requirements.
This program is provided at no charge through the North Central Community Health Center.

Epworth Family Support Network provides free family therapy to combat serious family issues and child abuse and neglect. They serve families who live in St. Louis City, St. Louis County, or St. Charles County with a child up to the age of 18 and no open or substantiated cases of child abuse and/or neglect. The goal of Epworth Family Support Network is to provide support to families before serious issues arise within the family unit. Referrals to Epworth Family Support Network are welcome but not necessary.
Services:
- Individualized family therapy once a week for one hour (in-home, virtually, or at a community setting)
- Total services last an average of nine months, depending on the needs of the family
- Professional parenting education
Cost: Families are free to contact the program directly to verify eligibility for services, which are free if funder requirements are met or welcome to self-pay with sliding-scale options.
The Child Support program can help with locating parents, establishing paternity, and starting or enforcing child support and medical support orders. Services are available to help the parent the child lives with (custodial parent) and the parent the child does not live with (non-custodial parent).

"Nurses for Newborns strives to serve at-risk families in our service areas that need support around their pregnancy and care for their newborn."
They provide home visits by nurses and material goods including diapers, formula, baby food, bedding and cribs all at __no cost__.

The Strong Couples Project combines traditional elements of online relationship education with couples coaching. As a part of the program, couples will complete six online modules of the evidence-based ePREP relationship education program from the comfort of their own home. They will also be paired with a trained MU Extension Specialist in Human Development, who will serve as their coach throughout the program--All Missouri couples coaches are allies or LGBT-identifying.
To enroll in the program, couples must be 18 years or older; Missouri residents; and married, engaged, or living together for at least six months.
As a public speaker and LGBTQ+ inclusion consultant, I regularly facilitate trans and queer 101, 201, and 301 sessions to workplaces, hospitals, schools, nonprofits, and families (among other categories of organizations) internationally and would be thrilled to deliver a welcoming and comprehensive training for your group.
