__Word on the Street: __After a trans employee came out at work, both companies have refused to use his pronouns, and have refused to put his chosen name on his ID (even after they assured him that they would). He was forced to work in an all female client home, which for him is illegal. They told him that they “can’t” change his ID until he gets his new social security card, and that he shouldn’t say anything about working in the female home because it might upset someone.
The BEGIN Training & Education Center (BTEC) is an innovative educational program providing various training courses with a wrap-around network of social support services. For many St. Patrick Center clients, the first step will include completing an on-site 12-week fast-track GED program prior to advancing to a training program. AmeriCorps St. Louis is a nonprofit based in the Soulard neighborhood of St. Louis, Missouri. Our Emergency Response Team (ERT) was one of the first AmeriCorps programs to exist, since the inception of AmeriCorps National Service, and has been operational every year since 1994.
