Saint Louis Ending Domestic and Sexual Violence Network is a network of individuals, agencies and organizations who serve in the interest of victims of domestic and sexual violence.
The Crime Victim Center of St. Louis (CVC) was founded in 1972 as the first victim service agency in the nation. Their mission is to empower individuals impacted by crime to move from crisis to resilience.
The Crime Victims' Compensation Program provides financial assistance to victims who have suffered physical harm as a result of violent crime. In the case of death, the Program helps the victim's dependents. The Crime Victims' Compensation Program is designed to assist victims of violent crimes through a period of financial hardship as a payor of last resort. If a victim has exhausted other collateral sources, such as health insurance, and has no other source of reimbursement, the Program can help pay for medical costs, wage loss, psychological counseling, funeral expenses and support to a maximum limit of $25,000.
Services: If death was the result of a crime, contact Crime Victims’ Compensation Unit, Department of Public Safety. Up to $5,000 for funeral expenses. Applications must be submitted for compensation. See website or call to see if eligible.
