Melissa Anderson, MA, LPC

Description
Melissa Anderson is a Licensed Professional Counselor in St. Louis and owns Ring of Keys Counseling LLC. Melissa works with individuals 18+ (in-person or virtually) who want to learn more about themselves and create a life that feels in line with who they are and what they want. Many of their clients are undergoing life transitions of all kinds, feeling stuck in patterns, and seeking deeper understanding and lasting change. Her practice is LGBTQIA2S+ affirming, fat-positive, neurodiversity affirming, and sex-positive.
Melissa believes in therapy as a collaborative process and will incorporate different styles and tools based on what you’re experiencing and what feels like a fit. In general, their framework is psychodynamic (drawing on the past to understand the present) and focuses on increasing insight and self-understanding, as well as resourcing in the moment.
Melissa draws from training and education in both biology and counseling to highlight the mind-body connection. This can be beneficial in working with somatic / bodily effects of trauma, physical symptoms and illnesses, STIs, and many other layered experiences that come with having bodies.
