Megan MacKenzie, LCSW, CST

Description
Megan MacKenzie (they/she) works with individuals and couples who are seeking greater authenticity, self-compassion, and capacity for intimacy, embodiment, and eroticism. They are particularly passionate about supporting members of the LGBTQ+ community in healing from the impacts of white cishetero patriarchal systems of oppression, especially as they are internalized as shame, guilt, and low self-esteem. Their approach focuses on building self-awareness, resiliency, empowerment, and joy through a trans- and queer-affirming framework.
Services: Queer therapy, sex therapy, relationship therapy, Gender-Affirming care (experiences of gender dysphoria, marginalization, or trauma),
Therapy Methods: Drawing primarily from Internal Family Systems (IFS), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), modern psychodynamic theory, and intersectional queer theory, Megan provides a validating and non-judgmental space for people to explore how past experiences have shaped current beliefs and patterns.
