Matt Carroll, Counseling Intern

Clinical Interests: Matt is a counseling intern, and practices under the supervision of a licensed clinician. he provides both in-person and virtual sessions and has over 8 years of experience in the field. He works primarily with adolescents, teens, young adults, and adults who may be experiencing challenges such as: Anxiety, Care giver stress, Stress Management, relationship issues, Self Esteem issues, boundary setting, life transitions, ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorders, Intellectual Disabilities, Attachment or Identity issues, bullying, grief, Trauma, LGBTQIA+ related concerns, Substance use, and bipolar disorder.

Clinical Approach: Matt takes a person-centered approach, believing that creating an environment where you feel safe, heard, and supported is where healing and growth starts. He believes that therapy should be a collaborative space where your experiences are honored and your voice matters because you are the expert in your life. Matt integrate Internal Family Systems (IFS) informed work, which recognizes that we all have different parts within us. By understanding these parts, we can develop greater self-awareness, compassion, and healing. Additionally, Matt is guided by Relational Cultural Theory, which emphasizes that connection and relationships are central to our well-being. He strives to be trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and an active advocate for his clients.

Hobbies: When he isn’t working Matt can be found spending time with his wife and dogs. He enjoys going to concerts, spending time in nature, playing video games, watching football and painting.
