Description

Maplewood United Methodist Church (MUMC or Maplewood UMC) recognizes that the larger Methodist church is not always affirming or accountable, but this group of people of faith have voted to become a reconciling congregation and specifically to Queer and Black people. They provide a small (and very cheap) resale shop as well as hosting events and having an event space that can be used for a variety of occasions (it has open spaces, is accessible and contains a working kitchen). The church has been led by women pastors for about the last 30 years, and many of the members are part of their community in ways where they can contribute.
