Depaul USA St. Louis provides housing and supportive services to homeless men, women, and youth through Project Plus/Plus II, and the St. Lazare House.
Works with folks with mental health challenges and disabilities. Religious beginnings, is supposed to house clients in accordance with gender identity.
Depaul USA has five programs in St. Louis that provide permanent supportive housing to youth and adults who are chronically homeless with untreated mental illnesses. These services include:
- Housing
- Case management
- Financial education services
- Employment and benefit services
- Connection to medical and mental health providers
- Obtaining identification documentation
- Transportation assistance
- Development of life skills and community engagement
- Recovery and community support services
Project Plus and Plus II: Project Plus/Plus II are permanent supportive scattered site housing programs. All clients have a major mental illness, and many have one or more behavioral health and/or chronic health issues. The participants are housed in one-bedroom apartments throughout St. Louis and rent is paid directly by Depaul USA. These two programs were among the highest ranked scattered sites programs in the St. Louis Continuum of Care for the Homeless initiative.
St. Michael’s House: St. Michael’s House is a temporary supportive housing program for homeless or housing insecure refugees in the St. Louis community. Following the Russian invasion in 2022, Depaul USA began an initiative of its own to raise funds for the Depaul subsidiary in Ukraine. With a particularly strong response in St. Louis, Depaul USA created St. Michael’s House.
Depaul Realty, LLC: Depaul USA operates Depaul Realty, LLC, a 12-unit apartment building that provides safe and secure housing to low income individuals in St. Louis and houses the office for Project Plus/ Plus II.
Jennings IV and V: 16 total units (8 units per building) of housing for seniors, provided in partnership with Affordable Equity Partners (AEP) Inc.
Staff completed one trans competency training with the Trans Housing Initiative St. Louis (THISTL) and declined follow up offers for additional training or policy review support. Staff confirmed services are intended to be trans inclusive and placements should be in accordance with gender identity.
