Description
Serving the St. Louis area for nearly forty years, our legal aid office ensures that clients are represented in court even if they are not able to afford a private attorney. Last year, we served 1,377 individuals by providing trauma-informed legal counsel to resolve civil matters and increase our clients’ quality of life.
Our Immigration Law Department assists clients in applying for asylum, or family reunification, as well as seeking work permits, legal residency or citizenship. They also provide support to victims of domestic violence and other serious crimes, along with aiding clients in avoiding deportation.
Our Family Law Department protects the rights of abused or neglected children and supports parents in creating safe environments for their family.
Our Guardianship Department is a volunteer run service that ensures children and incapacitated adults have someone to care for them.
CLAM also hosts community outreach events like Know Your Rights presentations and Power of Attorney workshops to impacted communities and offers educational sessions to the community at large.
(No Walk-Ins, Call for appointment) Mostly domestic issues, cases involving paternity, orders of protection, guardianship, and abuse. CLAM also offers services for immigrant populations who face challenges in filing governmental documents. No Walk-Ins.
