Anessa Kemna, PLPC
Description
Anessa Kemna is a Pre-Licensed Professional Therapist. Her therapy style is trauma-informed, compassionate, and affirming. She specializes in working with adults who are neurodivergent, part of the LGBTQ+ community, living with disabilities, or who have experienced academic trauma.
Note: Appointments are online via telehealth only
She states, "When you’re neurodivergent, queer, or disabled, it can feel like you’re constantly trying to meet unreachable standards. Shame, doubt, and overwhelm can make you feel like you’re falling short no matter how hard you try. You’re not failing, though. The problem is the world’s one-size-fits-none expectations, (plus the fact that our country is currently a dumpsterfire). But together we can create new expectations and redefine what success means for you. We’ll embrace every part of you, especially the parts you’ve been told don’t belong."
Therapy Methods: Compassion Focused, Dialectical Behavior (DBT), Person-Centered, Somatic, Trauma Focused
*Note: Anessa Kemna pre-licensed professional is in the process of meeting the requirements to become a licensed practitioner. Anessa is supervised by Frankie Salisbury, LPC, NCC, C-DBT. *
