Kelsey Wooten, MA, LPC
Description
Kelsey Wooten (She/Her) is a Licensed Professional Counselor at Sonder Counseling.
She states, "In life, we all experience hardship and need support. If you are reading this, it is probably because you have decided that you need to make a change in your life. You should be proud of yourself, admitting you need help and getting started is the hardest part. Counseling can be a great outlet to feel heard, learn new information, process your thoughts and feelings, work on your relationships, improve your communication, and make changes to improve your mental health and overall sense of well-being.
As your counselor, together we will explore what is impacting you both internally and externally. When you first begin to identify problems or look inside yourself it may seem like the emotions you have been carrying or experiences you have had seem too big or scary to face. That’s normal! Sometimes things get harder before they get easier. As humans, it feels safe when things are predictable, even if those things have a negative impact on us – this is part of the reason we stay stuck in old patterns.
I work with teens 15 and up as well as adults on a variety of issues ranging from depression and anxiety, substance abuse and dependence, to trauma. I also have experience working with individuals, couples, and families. My style of counseling is collaborative; I believe you are the expert on your life, and I am here to walk alongside you as you navigate challenges and make decisions. It would be an honor to be chosen to do so."
