Self-Identified As: Bisexual, Nonbinary, Chronic Mental Illness

I saw Kyla Hadenfeldt for a total of two therapy sessions, both of which were virtual. During our first session, I was open about my struggles, including my addiction to self injury and my abandonment trauma. I initially felt good about our session and looked forward to working with her. Upon the beginning of our second session, Kyla informed me that she would be firing me as a client at the end of my appointment. When I asked why, she said “You mentioned that you dealt with self-harm urges, and that is personally out of my comfort zone in terms of risk.” I was in absolute shock. I was devastated. I had already been searching for a therapist for MONTHS and thought I’d found a good fit. Kyla fired me with no notice, no support, and no referrals. I spiraled emotionally as a result and avoided making new therapy appointments. If you struggle with any issues that are remotely uncomfortable for most, do not see Kyla. I would not trust her with your vulnerability.
