Harvey Kornblum Jewish Food Pantry

About: JFS’s Harvey Kornblum Jewish Food Pantry (HKJFP) provides you with at least seven to 10 days of food per month, including kosher options, and personal care items. At HKJFP, you can also connect with a nurse, utility assistance, and referrals to other community resources. They serve all who live in St. Louis County, inclusive of age, race, religion, ethnicity, ability, gender identity, and sexual orientation. At the HKJFP, you shop for yourself and select the foods that support your family’s unique preferences, nutritional needs, and dietary requirements*. They offer fresh fruits and vegetables, along with protein-rich foods.

What to expect:

• Must call or email for appointment. 1) Call 314-513-1672 and a JFS representative will help you schedule your appointment or 2) Email foodpantryappointments@jfsstl.org with three preferred date and time options and you will receive a confirmation email response.
• Team members will ask for your income, but not for verification of income. ID and address(es) verification (through piece of mail or Ameren app/etc) is required.
• When your appointment arrives, you will drive around to the back of the building and get into a line of vehicles. Once at the front of the line, you will go inside (one person/family at a time) and show ID and proof of address. Note: You can also schedule a time to arrive for next month at this point.
• Then you pull around the front and they bring out a cart of food in boxes and bags, and you take what you want and leave what you don't need.
• They do accommodate food allergies as much as possible, and offer fresh produce, cheese, etc. based on availability.
• According to pantry goers, the line often takes about 45 minutes, and then maybe another 10 minutes to get the cart of food out and loaded up. It is not recommended to arrive early, but arriving right on time is highly advised.
